LBRAP — Laboratory of Rhizobia Biotechnology and Plant Improvement

Research teams

Since its creation in 2007, the laboratory has specialised in the study of symbiotic nitrogen-fixing relationships and their adaptation to abiotic stress, and has since expanded to genetics and plant improvement, biochemistry and microbiology. It is now organised into four teams.

Symbiosis & biofertilisers

Team 1Exploitation of the diversity of endemic symbiotic associations best adapted to local environmental constraints and their biotechnological valorisation in the production of biofertilisers

Team leader : Prof. Abdelkader Bekki

Legumes & ecosystems

Team 2Improvement of the production of legumes of economic interest and ecosystem management

Team leader : Dr Asma El-Zerey-Belaskri

Microbiology & metabolites

Team 3Production of secondary metabolites in rhizobia and other rhizospheric microorganisms

Team leader : Prof. Meriem Amina Rezki
